Snellville Celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week
Written by City of Snellville
During the week of November 12-19, the City of Snellville is celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week with events to support entrepreneurs and small businesses in the community.
The Mayor and City Council will kick off the week with a proclamation on Monday, November 14 at the City Council Meeting. On Wednesday, November 16 the South Gwinnett Entrepreneurship Alliance will host the "Unleashing Ideas Summit" for students and mentors of the program. A high-powered panel of entrepreneurs will lead an interactive discussion, and students will engage in a mentorship session over lunch. Later that day, new and future business owners are invited to Snellville City Hall from 5:30 until 8:30 for the SCORE Simple Steps Class entitled "Is Starting a Business Right for You?" On Friday, the Entrepreneur Advisors Symposium Simulcast returns to Snellville. The Symposium on November 18th runs from 8am - 11am and will be held at the South Gwinnett High School auditorium. Come hear the President of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Terry Stinson. The Mandarin Hotel Group is based in Hong Kong, while Terry lives here in Atlanta. He will provide great insight into conducting a business in the new, global economy.
Global Entrepreneurship Week was started in England in 2008, and since then it has grown to 115 countries, with nearly 24,000 partner organizations planning more than 37,000 activities that directly engage more than 7 million people. Global Entrepreneurship Week is about thinking big and making your mark on the world—doing good while doing well at the same time.
