Republican Chris Ballar to Run for Judge of Gwinnett Probate Court
Written by Chris Ballar
Buford Attorney Chris Ballar announced Thursday that he will seek the Office of Judge of Gwinnett Probate Court. Ballar is the owner of The Ballar Law Firm based in Buford. The firm specializes in estate planning and in laws relating to the elderly, both of which relate heavily with the Probate Court.
"I believe I would bring unique skills and experiences to the Office," said Ballar. "I've run a private firm and know what it means to budget and manage. And I have strong, first-hand experience helping my clients find solutions both in an out of court."
For more than a decade he has counseled and advised clients on topics including wills, powers of attorney, guardianship, asset protection Medicaid and estate recovery. He is among the most experienced attorneys in the County in the arena.
Chris and his wife of 15 years, Amy, have two children, Jane and Shea, who attend public school in Gwinnett County. Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Oglethorpe University and his law degree from Mercer University School of Law.
Chris is a member of the Gwinnett Bar Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is a member of the Buford Business Alliance and is active in his children's school on the parent's school board.
