Prudential Georgia Realty introduced the first Job Loss Protection program for real estate to metro Atlanta home buyers and sellers. The HELP Program (Homeowner Education and Loan Protection) is administered by the Rainy Day Foundation and includes up to six monthly payments of $1,800 over a 24-month coverage period. That translates to $10,800 of protection in the event of an involuntary job loss. This program is only available from certified Prudential Georgia Realty agents.

New London Theatre to Open `Pirates of Penzance` July 10

"The Pirates of Penzance" is the Gilbert and Sullivan classic musical of Fredric and his servitude as a pirate, his love for Mabel, his loyalty to the Pirate King, and the plot against the Major General.

Gainesville State College Holds 2009 Spring Commencement

Gainesville State College (GSC) held its Spring 2009 Commencement on Thursday, May 8 in the Hugh M. Mills Physical Education Complex of the Gainesville Campus. Students from both the Gainesville and Oconee Campuses participated in the ceremony and a total of 351 Bachelor of Science, Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science degrees and Certificates was awarded.

Georgia Gwinnett College Achieves Accreditation

Georgia’s newest four-year public institution, Georgia Gwinnett College, received notification today from the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) that the college has been granted its initial accreditation, less than three years after opening its doors to students. The decision, which came only a year after the college was granted candidacy toward accreditation last June, affirms Georgia Gwinnett’s continuing commitment to academic excellence, public accountability and its capacity to provide effective programs and services based on accreditation standards established by SACS.
